Guide
Dealers are not manufacturers. Telling the service advisor — even in writing on a repair order — is not the statutory notice in most states. The notice goes to the manufacturer, at the address in your owner's manual or warranty booklet, by the method your state names (certified mail, return receipt requested, is the most common).
In notice-gate states (Oregon, Arizona, Illinois, Delaware, Kansas, Iowa, Missouri, New Mexico, North Dakota, Nebraska, Oklahoma, West Virginia and more), the presumption legally does not apply until this letter lands. In California's fast track, the §871.24 letter is what preserves penalties. In Georgia, the form of delivery itself is regulated. Your state page prints your exact rule; the kit contains the letter for your state, filled from your repair log.
The repair-log tracker, your state's notice letter, the buyback worksheet, and your deadline calendar.
